E-Mail Server Information (for use within Midstate’s serving area):

  • POP Server = pop.midstatesd.net
  • *SMTP Server = smtp.midstatesd.net


E-Mail Server Information (for use outside of Midstate’s serving area):

  • POP Server = pop.midstatesd.net
  • SMTP Server = smtp.midstatesd.net


*Must use authentication and have the outgoing server use the incoming server settings. Call the Internet Help Desk at 778-8028 for assistance with this option.

Click here to login to Webmail. Type in your email address and current password and then click at the bottom left of the screen.

Setting Up Your Midstate E-Mail

Below are instructions for setting up access for both methods.

Webmail


  1. Connect to Webmail.
  2. Login with your e-mail address and the password you chose when you signed up.
  3. To learn how to use your e-mail program, click Help on the tool bar at the top of the Outlook window.

Windows Mail – Vista

To add an e-mail account in Windows Vista, follow the instructions below:


  1. Open Windows Mail
  2. Go to the Tools Menu and select Accounts
  3. Click Add
  4. Click E-Mail Account
  5. Click Next
  6. Type your name and click Next
  7. Type your e-mail address and click Next
  8. Your Incoming Mail Server type is POP3
  9. Your Incoming Mail Server is pop.midstatesd.net
  10. Your Outgoing Mail Server is smtp.midstatesd.net
  11. Click Next. Your e-mail username will fill in automatically
  12. Type your password and check the Remember Password box. Click Next
  13. Click Finish
  14. Click Close
To learn more about Windows Mail, click Help in the toolbar at the top of the window. Select About Microsoft Windows Mail.

Changing your password in Windows Mail:


  1. Open Windows Mail
  2. Go to the Tools Menu and select Accounts
  3. Click the mail account for which you want to change the password
  4. Click Properties
  5. Click on the Servers tab
  6. Delete the current password in the password box
  7. Type in your new password and check the Remember Password box
  8. Click OK and close the Accounts box

Windows Live Mail 2012

To add an e-mail account:


  1. Open Windows Live Mail
  2. Click on Accounts
  3. Click E-Mail
  4. In the E-Mail Address box type in your full e-mail address – i.e. yourusername@midstatesd.net
  5. In the Password box type in your password and check the Remember This Password box
  6. Fill in the Display Name box   this can be whatever you want
  7. Click “Manually” to Configure Server Settings
  8. Click next

  1. Server type is POP
  2. Server address is pop.midstatesd.net  Port: 110
  3. Authenticate using Clear Text
  4. Logon Username   will be the beginning of your email address
  5. Outgoing Server Information is Server Address: smtp.midstatesd.net
  6. Port: 25
  7. Click on Requires Authentication
  8. Click Finish

To learn more about Windows Live Mail, click on the Help icon at the top right hand corner of the screen.

Changing your password in Windows Live Mail:


  1. Open Windows Live Mail
  2. Click Accounts
  3. Click on your account name on the left
  4. Click Properties
  5. Click the Servers tab at the top of the window
  6. In the Password box, delete contents and type in your new password
  7. Click OK

Windows 8


  1. Add your email Account
  2. Click on IMAP
  3. Click Connect
  4. Email Address:  put in your midstatesd.net address – i.e. user@midstatesd.net
  5. Password:  Put in your password given to you from Midstate
  6. Click on Show More Details
  7. Email Address:  put in your midstatesd.net address
  8. User Name:  put in just the beginning of your email – i.e. user
  9. Password:  input your Midstate password
  10. Incoming IMAP email server: pop.midstatesd.net
  11. Port: 143
  12. Remove the check mark in front of Incoming Server Requires SSL
  13. Outgoing (SMTP) email server: smtp.midstatesd.net
  14. Port:  25
  15. Remove the check mark in front of Outgoing Server Requires SSL
  16. Click:  Connect
