June Midstate Messenger: Summer Updates
– By #Midstate Communications Team
The June edition of the Midstate Messenger is here, and it is filled with summer updates for Midstate Communications members across central South Dakota. This month’s newsletter includes details about our upcoming Customer Appreciation Cookouts. Midstate Communications will be visiting several communities in our service area this June to say thank you to our members with a free lunch, door prize registration, and time to visit with Midstate staff. These cookouts are also a great opportunity to ask questions about Midstate Fiber Internet, streaming TV options, managed WiFi, and other services available to homes, farms, and businesses in our area.
We are also proud to recognize the 2026 Midstate Communications Scholarship recipients. Each year, Midstate supports local students as they continue their education and prepare for the future. This year, seven graduating seniors from area schools were awarded $750 scholarships.
The June newsletter also includes important board election information for members in District 1 and District 2. Members interested in learning more about board member qualifications and the nomination process are encouraged to review the details and submit nominating petitions by the June 16, 2026 deadline.
For those planning a new home, shop, cabin, farm project, or other construction project, this month’s newsletter includes a reminder to contact Midstate Communications before the next fiber plow date arrives. Planning ahead helps ensure Midstate Fiber Internet service can be scheduled before the ground cools down.
Readers will also find a helpful Gene and Linda article about the risks of Super Boxes, including concerns with home network security, slower WiFi, device issues, and illegal streaming activity. The newsletter also includes a lighthearted update on Midstate Communications’ employee garden, a health and wellness project bringing employees together this spring and summer.
We invite you to take a few minutes to read the June Midstate Messenger and stay connected with the latest news, events, and updates from Midstate Communications.
